Here we have a rare and delightful documentary slipware agate ‘Hen and Chickens’ ornamental Top Hat Tobacco Jar. Today ideal for jewellery and small precious things, but in the past as a tobacco jar for a pipe-smoker, an essential part of relaxation in the everyday life of working men.

Made by the Kitsons of Woodman House, Elland and Ainley Top, Halifax, Yorkshire, sliptrailed “W Taylor 1877”. Wonderful.
