Plant Pot Stand, Buckley, North Wales, Last Quarter 19th C.

Description

Here we have a marvellous slipware flowerpot stand from the Buckley Potteries in North Wales. These sought-after flowerpot bases are rare. The elevated style and design gives the flowerpot a raised and majestic look.

With fabulous rich mature galena glaze over the slip-decorated body, unglazed inside to allow for water evaporation to rise up around the plant pot, creating a perfect damp atmosphere for the leaves of the plant in the pot.
