Mid-18th Century Slipware Loving Cup, Staffordshire, England
A rare and wonderful mid-18th century two-handled Staffordshire loving cup with an impressed “punt” at base of each handle and lively period decoration of flowers and tulips in “jewelled” slipware with the owner’s initials “WP” and the date 1753.

Generally good condition with crazing, shrinkage flaws and various glazing imperfections to be expected with this type of early ware and firing techniques, also with minor wear commensurate with age and use.
