Description
A delightful, finely modelled and painted pottery pearlware figure of a putto on a quilted cushion, sleeping to the right with a blanket and a basket with fruit and flowers to his head.
These charming little puttos have represented the sacred Cherub in Art from the early 17th c. (Baroque).
Superbly modelled and painted in the palette of early Staffordshire pottery colours.

Condition
Fine, excellent condition, this wonderful little model must have lived all its life in a display cabinet for over the last 200+ years as it is as clean and fresh as the day it was made.
Professional attention to a very minor shrinkage flaw in the manufacturing process where the yellow blanket meets his left leg, typical of early Staffordshire, mentioned only for accuracy.
