Traditional English antique North Devon slipware dish mid-19th century

A delightful floral dish confidently and freely incised through the surface slip coat to create a contrasting pattern (Sgraffito), an artistic technique much used by the North Devon potters. Attributed to the Fishleys of Fremington, circa. 1850.

Good unrestored condition with typical minor surface ware and firing imperfections.
